Black Lab, Green Sand Foundry, Holbeck, Leeds. Feb 16th to May 19th 2010

In February 2010 Black Dogs initiated a three-month collaborative learning and artistic knowledge-exchange project in Green Sand Foundry, Holbeck, Leeds.

Aside from the weekly 'general meetings' at which participants discussed and planned previous and forthcoming events and introduced their interests to one another via ten-minute long presentations, a number of events, workshops and sessions were held over the three months. These included:

Sound afternoon - an afternoon spent sharing noise-producing and close-miking techniques and creating improvised sound pieces in the space (organised by Stu Bannister)

Private screening of 'Who Killed Harry Field' - an evening where an episode of Inspector Morse called ‘Who Killed Harry Field?' was used as a starting point for discussing public perceptions of 'art' and 'artist' (organised by Liz Murphy)

An evening with(out) Alain Badiou - a group listening of 'The Subject of Art' lecture by Alain Badiou (organised by Andy Abbott)

24-hour Movie Marathon (organised by Martha Jurksaitus)

Performance Day
- included performances by Michael Burkitt, Rory Macbeth, Andy Abbott and Mick Welbourn followed by a private screening of 'Here is Somewhere else' Bas Jan Ader documentary (organised by Michael Burkitt)

The Last Supper
- a food event and presentation by Jayne Bradley (organised by Jayne Bradley and Andy Abbott)
